HK Army ELX Strapless Harness Review
The HK Army ELX Strapless Harness is one of the favorite new harnesses for tournament paintballers because of its versatility, low profile, and carrying capacity. As can be expected, the ELX is also extremely popular among recreational players for these very same features.
Starting from the outside of the harness, you will find not one, not two, but three different belts on each side of the harness to hold the pods as close to you as possible. The innermost belt also features an anti-slip silicone layer as well to prevent slipping and movement when you’re on the field.
Towards the back of the harness, there are hip support pads as well as lumbar support pads for increased comfort and a tighter fit. The lumbar support pad also has more of the anti-slip silicone to keep the harness firmly in place. A great feature of these pads is that they’re modular and can be removed or repositioned simply by separating the velcro strips and re-attaching them.
Players should note that there is no tension control for the harness. However, because of the three different belts, you may notice that tension control isn’t even needed.
Coming around the to the pod sleeves, HK Army designed the pod sleeves to be completely strapless for easy removal of the pods while you’re playing. Out of the box, the harness will hold 11 pods. However, it does come with additional webbing to attach another belt so that you can carry even more, in case 11 isn’t enough! At the mouth of each pod sleeve, HK Army has included rubber tabs to help with easy loading.
When worn, the harness feels very lightweight and comfortable. The belts are also very snug and have great retention so there is no way that this harness is going anywhere on the field. Especially if you’re a thinner player with an aggressive speedball style, this might be the perfect harness for you.
