Field One Force v2 Unboxing, Review, and Shooting Test
The Field One Force Version 2 is the next generation of one of the best professional paintball markers ever to be produced. In fact, the Dynasty paintball team uses it for all of the competitions and has won many victories with the Field One Force original and V2 including the world cup championship.
For those players who already have the OG Field One Force and don’t feel like they need the aesthetic upgrades, Field One sells the upgrade kit to turn your V1 into the V2. That way you can buy the upgrade kit separately and have functionally the same marker as the V2!
Field One Force V2 Unboxing
The Field One Force V2 retails for about $1550 and comes packaged in its very own hard-shell carrying case. Within the carrying case, you’ll find everything that you need to hit the field running. The first thing you’ll see in the carrying case are two acculock barrel inserts–a .691 and a .683. An acculock barrel back and barrel tip are also included in the case. There is additional storage available in the case for more barrel inserts, however, you may need to purchase these separately if you don’t already have the inserts.
For maintenance, the marker also comes with additional lubricant, a quick start manual, and a full rebuild case for any additional maintenance you may need to perform. The marker also comes with some additional merchandise like a patch, stickers, a player’s cards and a tech card that proves the marker’s passing of final quality assurance checks. Farther into the carrying case, you’ll also find a barrel cover as well as a shoulder strap to carry your marker in case you don’t have a gear bag. Last, and certainly not least, is the Field One Force V2 marker that’s protected by a neoprene insert.
Field One Force V2 Review
One of the key features of the Field One Force V2 is the acculock barrel system. With this barrel system, the barrel insert isn’t going anywhere. In fact, because of the keyhole design, you have to remove the barrel as well as the barrel tip before you can take out the insert. This is one of the features that makes the V2 one of the most accurate markers on the market.
Looking at the aesthetics of the V2, it features redesigned eye covers, a redesigned front foregrip with milling, and the whole body is redesigned from the previous version as well including the back cap. The V2 also comes with two different battery options for players to use. The first option allows players to put traditional AA batteries in the foregrip. However, in the grip of the marker, players also have the option to install a LiPo battery. Within the rear grip of the marker, players can flip a dip switch to choose the power supply that the marker will run off of. This is a great option in case your marker runs out of juice during the middle of a tournament; you don’t have to recharge, you can simply switch to the AA batteries in the foregrip. Please bear in mind that the grip is not tool-less. You will need a screwdriver to remove the panels on the grip.
Moving down to the trigger, the V2 features a deuce style trigger which many players love. In spite of the compact size of the marker, there is still an ample amount of room within the trigger guard and between the trigger guard and foregrip for people with meatier hands.
Nucleus Core
The Nucleus Core bolt is the core upgrade to the V2. There are seven different upgrades that Field One made to the bolt–most of which focused on efficiency and maximizing downrange paint volume. From the top of the bolt, Field One added hex-wrench slots to help with bolt maintenance. On the “V1” model, there were many complaints about working on the bolt and trying to take it apart with no clear way to do so slots were added for a hex-wrench.
Next is the pillow-tip bolt which is a massive upgrade from the brass screw that was causing some issues on the V1 as well. There is also a stronger outer cage with thicker aluminum to make the bolt more resistant to drops, slides, and falls on the field. This is a great feature for any aggressive tournament player. The stop also got an upgrade with additional precision milling techniques and an upgrade from brass to more-durable aluminum. This allows for better air flow within the marker. Finally, Field One also changed the rammer and added some additional milling which helps with the airflow precision and efficiency of the marker.
Rhino HPR
Toward the bottom of the gun, Field One also added an improved Rhino HPR regulator with on/off ASA. This allows for adjustable airflow and velocity for players who really want to fine-tune their markers and reach the lowest operating pressure. Within the regulator, many different changes have been made which make the gun more efficient and make maintenance easier.
Wrapping Up
The new Field One Force V2 is sure to be one of the most impressive markers on any tournament field this year. The internal upgrades are relatively small but have an outsized impact on the overall efficiency and functioning of the marker. The fact is, once you get into the world of flagship guns, small changes end up making big differences.
