Paintball Gun Parts and Accessories
Picking up a stock paintball marker and racing onto the field can be a lot of fun. However, most committed paintball players invest in customized gear they can use to improve their performance on the field. Many aftermarket paintball accessories can give players an extra edge, on top of providing a unique look. These parts may increase firing rate, improve reliability, or make your marker more accurate.
To that end, paintball guns can be endlessly modified. The most advanced players often have different markers with different configurations for different scenarios. Customization all depends on what budget you have and what accessories are available. Depending on your marker and gear, you can change out triggers, grips, bolt systems, and circuit boards. You may even invest in specific ASA fittings, as well as optics with distinct reticles.
Triggers
Switching out the trigger is a great place to start if you want to do some upgrades on your marker with near-instant benefits. While factory triggers get the job done, custom triggers give players that sure feel for a reliable pull each time. With speed and consistency a priority in any paintball game, having a trigger you can pull without much thought will keep you in the game that much longer.
Grips
It’s possible to pull a paintball marker trigger and still feel like you’re not in full control of the gun. That’s where custom grips help out tremendously. Molding your hands to the grip (and not vice versa) will help you maneuver the marker around with greater ease. The plus side is, most grips give a marker a more dynamic look as well.
Bolt Systems
Besides the trigger, your paintball marker’s bolt will do most of the work when it comes to firing projectiles downrange. Smooth bolt action can reduce the number of broken paintballs you have, as well as improve the overall effectiveness and accuracy of your shots. Optimal bolt systems can also increase your marker’s efficiency across shot counts.
Circuit Boards
As much as paintball players like to think they’re the brains of the operation, sometimes circuit boards can make a lot of things happen behind the scenes. From monitoring shots to increasing the overall rate of fire, circuit boards can be a common upgrade for players looking to gain that extra edge on the competition.
ASA
ASA fittings earn their keep every time you use them to fill up your marker. Investing in a solid setup means you won’t have to worry about leaks or replacements in quick succession. There’s nothing like getting fired up to paintball and finding your air leaked out overnight.
Optics and Reticles
Getting a paintball marker to shoot is easy, but it takes a good set of optics to fully realize the potential of these guns. As with any shooting sport, players can choose from a variety of optics, such as traditional scopes, red dots, and even high-end glass such as thermal scopes. A player’s choice of paintball scopes can depend on budget, preference, and even the types of games they participate in.
